Again... if this poor guy had a self defense weapon, things might be different... the only twist here is getting past the baseball bat... but, once hit by it.. you should be close enough to do something .... but staying outside the swing... then moving in with a self defense weapon should really take care of the bat person... horrible stuff truly is happening out there... weapon up people....

A quick-thinking Fort Worth police officer helped investigators arrest three teenagers -- two 15 year olds and a 16 year old -- in connection with last weekend's beating of a 66-year-old pizza deliveryman, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

The teens are accused of robbing and severely beating Frederick Rein as he delivered pizza Saturday night to a vacant house in the 1200 block of Bessie Street, the newspaper reported. They have been charged with delinquent conduct/aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

Reins remains in an intensive care unit with severe head injuries that police said were inflicted with an aluminum baseball bat.
